Annual Meeting
Availability
of Scholarships
Thanks to a grant
from the US EPA Region 2, numerous scholarships are available for this
meeting. Preference will be given to those individuals who:
- represent
county or local municipal governments and are first-time attendees;
- represent
county or local municipal governments with a presentation or
poster session; or
- are college
students or researchers with a presentation or poster session.
- applicants
are encouraged to be or become a member of the New York State
Wetlands Forum (visit http://www.wetlandsforum.org/org/join.htm
for details)
Recipients may use
their award to fund meeting registration and/or travel expenses.
It is the recipient's responsibility to make all transportation
arrangements and submit receipts for reimbursement of pre-approved
transportation and lodging costs associated with participating
in the meeting.
A complete application contains the following:
1. A completed registration form
2. Title and abstract of the paper or poster you will present at the Conference
(if applicable).
3. Statement on what you hope to gain from attending the New York State
Wetlands Forum annual conference (200 words maximum).
4. An explanation of the financial assistance needed and an estimate of
travel expenses, if requested.

or by post (please include disk copy) to Jennifer Brady-Connor,
Chair, New York State Wetlands Forum, Inc., P.O. Box 1351, Latham,
NY 12110. Acceptable formats include Microsoft Word, Wordperfect,

ALL APPLICATION
MATERIALS MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE DEADLINE DATE OF February 28,
2003. A representative of the New York State Wetlands Forum will
contact you on or before March 3 to coordinate the final details
if your scholarship application is approved.
Other relevant
deadlines include: Abstracts for the Conference must be submitted
by January 31 2003. Hotel room reservations must be made by February
21 to receive reduced room rates of $95 single and $110.00 double.
